TRUST IN THE LORD/Minister Eric Muhammad

By Minister Eric Muhammad

In the book of proverbs Chapter 29 verse 25 it reads:

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

In Chapter 3 verse 5 it reads:

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

As we see, trust in the lord is the key.

How many of us are actually willing to trust the lord? How many of us instead lean unto our own understanding? Why can’t we seem to trust the lord?

In Proverbs Chapter 22 verse 6 it reads:

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

To be snared by the fear of man and therefore unsafe due to the lack of trust in the lord leads to us leaning unto our own understanding instead of trusting the lord. This comes from not being trained as children in the way we should go.

We were not taught as Black people in the way we should go while children. We fear man and are therefore snared instead of being safe by virtue of our trust in the lord. Our parents put the fear of man in us while children because their parents did so to them while they were children. This cycle of fear began when our first slave parents were made to fear their slave masters. Fear of the slave master brought a snare to the slave. Why? Wasn’t the slave master a man? Doesn’t the word say “the fear of man bringeth a snare?” So we see that ever since our foreparents were brought here to be made slaves, we have been in the snare that the fear of the man who enslaved us brings.

We claim to believe in Jesus alright enough, but we certainly claim this falsely. If we believed in Jesus, we would trust the lord. If we trusted the lord, we would fear no man. If we feared no man, we would know that as the bible teaches…”there’s a time to hold your peace and THERE’S A TIME TO SPEAK YOUR PEACE”…..THAT THIS IS A TIME TO SPEAK OUR PEACE AND WE’D STOP FEARING TO SPEAK IT AND SPEAK IT!

In Proverbs Chapter 1 verse 7 it reads:

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Let us fear the lord and not man and by doing so we will begin to be wise as Proverbs 9 verse 10 says we will be by so doing instead of being the fools we are presently being as quoted in 1:7 who despise the wisdom and instruction that men who follow these verses have to offer.
