LOCAL NEWS/Atlanta, GA./MUSLIM MINISTER AMONG HONOREES

Minister Eric Muhammad of Muhammad’s Temple # 15 in Atlanta, GA. was among several honorees to receive an award at a recent community event. The event, held May 18, was the annual Malcolm X Day celebration sponsored by Chief Sundiata Keita Kamara, Founder of the Sankore African Study Circle and President of the U.N.I.A. (Division 462). In addition to the presentation of awards, Chief Kamara also held a book signing for his recent book entitled “Who is The Original Man.” Chief Kamara is also coming out with a new album entitled “THE UPRISING” which features revolutionary rap with a single entitled “HAIL SHANGO” featuring the voice of the late Dr. Khallid Muhammad delivering his now infamous speech at Kean college in N.J.

Also receiving awards were radio personalities, song artists, and community activists. The List of activists included Mr. Gerald Rose of “The New Order” who is known for his many marches and protests surrounding police misconduct and various other issues of concern to the Black Community. Iffat Muhammad, head of the group’s Dekalb County Chapter and sister of one of the young men fatally shot by Dekalb County Police Officers, was also in attendance and received an award. The list of radio personalities included Karen Mason, Wanique Shabazz, Sis.Rah, and others from station WRFG 89.3FM. Miss Shivon, Album 88, and The Antagonist from 88.5FM along with Samba Kamara and Nbaye Ndiaye of Africa Voice 860FM were also among those awarded. Artists recognized included Hectic, Melaphyre, and Diamond Dog.

The event included a panel of speakers from various backgrounds who spoke on the legacy of the late Malcolm X and what that legacy meant for them today. Minister Eric Muhammad spoke briefly on Minister Malcolm X saying, “As a Minister and representative of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Malcolm was the best of those both before himself and since.” Minister Muhammad recalled how as a small child growing up in Newark, N.J. in the mid to late 1960’s he was introduced to Malcolm via a speech on the radio. He also spoke of the impact reading “The Auto-Biography of Malcolm X” had on him during his very early adult years. Speaking to an audience of over 50 people at The African Djeli across from the West End Mall who were there to honor Malcolm, Minister Eric Muhammad emphasized the need for separation of The Black Nation from America, referring to America as “a burning house.” Also noteworthy was that Chief Kamara introduced Minister Eric Muhammad as “my Minister who gives me spiritual counsel.” With members of Temple # 15’s F.O.I. standing post on both sides of the room several speakers after Minister Muhammad, including Chief Sundiata himself, referenced positively The Nation of Islam under the leadership of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Chief Kamara, who gave the keynote address, very forcefully dispelled the notion that Messenger Muhammad and The Nation of Islam were involved in Malcolm’s assassination.

The nearly two hour event ended with a pledge by all in attendance to carry on the struggle of our people for true freedom and liberation and not just honor our freedom fighters with our mouths, while failing to exemplify the principles of revolution for which they sacrificed their lives. Here is his number. (404)-304-7598

Instead of wondering, call him and tell him whatever you think he should know about me. This would be a better approach than asking me, since it is him and not myself that you are wondering about.

Thank you and All Praise Is Due To Allah For The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

For the past several years we have been hosting a Saviour’s Day observance here in Atlanta. We will be doing so again this year. May Allah continue to bless Minister Al Mutaquin Ali and the believers in Philly with success. I would like to come to Philly to do either the Farrakhan Vs. Elijah or Hypocrisy of Barackracy lecture. I would like to do these lectures in any major city where there is the interest in having them done.

    As Salaam Alaikum

  9. Gabriel Muhammad Says:

    As Salaam Alaikum:

If every sect within the Muslim Community see its way to a seat at the table and put aside their differences and move towards UNITY, the whole world would open up to the visions and teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. A UNITED FRONT. Just think about that when you attack Minister Farrakhan or Barack Obama. These men are in places that will do us some good in the long run. They are doing the work they were born to do and Allah is God.

We must stop hating one another. Farrakhan is not the enemy and you have to come to terms with this, soon. Our people needs us and they hate when we attack one another like vicious dogs. We are better than this and we have to set an example and a new coarse for Muslim Unity in the West.

I am calling on those who feel like me to write to me and let’s reach for a consensus that will enable us to build a bridge towards one another. There is only #1 Nation of Islam and we must begin to communicate with one another and fellowship with one another. The Messenger would be proud of us and His Spirit will rise up in us in this modern day of Judgment if we just get past this hatred and jealousy.

May The Peace & Blessings Be Upon You!

    Selah

I like this article, we as a people have a long way to go still, we have to be honest with ourselves first in where we stand in relationship to each other. Minister Farrrakhan once said “People are put into your life to bring out of you that what needs to be addressed.” So if a person irritates, you you need to look into yourself and find out why and address the issues. Growth takes place the moment we realize that we have caused whatever we are challenged with we create our destiny. We also have to learn how to forgive. We can forgive the White man so easily, but our brother or sister we will hold a grudge forever. A Muslim’s word is his bond, we are looked upon and respected as so. If we continue to break our word the bond of trust and respect can never grow. We can only be looked upon as leaders when we learn to keep our word. This is a first step or one of the fist of many steps to helping a loss people whom by Allah’s word we are destined to lead and teach.
